Have you ever felt like you’re on the brink of something exciting? Something you’ve always wanted to do but have never done before?
Something you’re not sure of where it’s going to lead but you can’t wait for the journey to begin? That’s how I feel about starting this blog.
My writing may be centralized, for the most part, around all that stuff that encompasses parenthood, but it’s for me. It’s something I’m doing for myself, and to be honest, I haven’t done enough of that since becoming a mother.
I’ve thought about starting a blog for a while. Even before I had my son, I thought about it. Now though, now is my time. I can feel it. My birthday was this past Saturday. I turned 29, and you know what? It’s time to shine. It’s time to do the thing that keeps me up at night (aside from a restless three year old) and makes me nervous yet giddy with excitement.
Somewhere in between interrupted nights and tireless days, I’ve finally found the motivation I need. I can’t say I’ve found the time, because I still barely fit in time to shower, watch a 30-minute Netflix show, or catch up with friends, but it doesn’t matter. When we’re scared to do something, we’ll find every excuse in the book; but maybe, that thing we’re scared of is exactly what we should be doing. Maybe it’s trying to tell us something.
I could put this off some more. Sure, I could convince myself I shouldn’t have this thing for myself, that it will take away time from my family, that I will be too overwhelmed, that I have so many other things I should be focused on.
But let’s face it, life is short. Too short not to do all those things that make life worth living.
So here it is.
Take a look.

If I can do it, so can you my friend.
